Alex joins the women´s team effective immediately and turns her attention to the 6s European Championships in Spain in November 2026.

Ailsa Stott

In recognition of outstanding service - Ailsa Stott

British Lacrosse would like to extend sincere thanks to Ailsa Stott for her outstanding service as Interim Head Coach.

Ailsa and Sixes playersAilsa has been a respected and influential figure within our sport for many years, both as an exceptional international player and as a dedicated coach. Her leadership and experience have been invaluable during this period of transition, and we are grateful for the energy and expertise she has brought to the role.

As one of the first coaches to help drive forward the British Lacrosse 6s programme, her insight, passion, and professionalism have played a pivotal role in shaping the team’s progress and success. Thanks to her vision and commitment, we find ourselves in a stronger position as we move closer to the Olympic Games.

As British Lacrosse continues to evolve and strengthen its performance and coaching structures, we now look to the future and hope that Ailsa will continue to contribute to our journey to LA28. She will also contribute to the game  through her work with Scotland Lacrosse, as they prepare for the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship.

We thank Ailsa for her service, her excellence, and her continued commitment to the growth of lacrosse in Britain.

British Lacrosse

Phil Collier

British Lacrosse wants to acknowledge and thank Phil Collier for his outstanding contribution to the development of lacrosse across Britain

, especially in the groundbreaking work in the Olympic sixes game.

As the former Head Coach of the British Women’s Sixes programme, Phil led the team to a historic 4th place finish at The World Games in Alabama (2022), as well as multiple gold medal performances at EuroLax Sixes and international competitions in Canada.

His leadership positioned British Lacrosse at the forefront of Sixes development globally, ensuring our athletes and coaches were amongst the first to adapt and excel in the new Olympic format.

Phil’s impact extended far beyond competition results. He helped pioneer Sixes in the UK, bringing vision, clarity and performance standards to a rapidly evolving version of the game. His dedication to players, coaches, and the wider lacrosse community has been invaluable in laying foundations for future success on the international stage.

We thank Phil for his service to British Lacrosse, congratulate him on his new role with England Lacrosse, and look forward to seeing the continued influence he will have on shaping the growth of Sixes lacrosse in the UK and beyond.

We wish him every success in the next stage of his coaching journey.

The World Games Chengdu China 2025

British Lacrosse would like to congratulate the Women’s Sixes Team who returned home from The World Games 2025 in Chengdu with a 5th place finish. The team performed well both on and off the pitch in the face of tough competition from the worlds best 6s teams, and can be proud of their response in the face of difficult conditions. The World Games was a valuable step on our Olympic journey, being the only multisport event we will face prior to LA28. With valuable lessons learned and a renewed sense of purpose for the future, the event has given us a great springboard for future success.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Ailsa Stott, the squad delivered performances that built on the strong foundation of 6s experience set over the last few years.

Ailsa, who is also the Head Coach of Scotland Women's field team, took over the helm of the 6s program in April and guided the team through their final preparations and their 3rd World Games experience in China. British Lacrosse would like to recognise the outstanding commitment and dedication Ailsa has shown to not only British Lacrosse, but our athletes and the wider lacrosse game.

Extreme temperatures in China ruled the day, as BL set their stall with a commanding win in their opening game vs hosts China. A close fought loss to Canada followed, and a final defeat to a resilient Japanese team saw the team fail to progress to the semi-final stages. A 5th place match win against the Czech Republic rounded out the tournament.

Chris Russell, British Lacrosse's Performance Lead states:
The World Games in the long run will ultimately have been a positive experience for us. Whilst the results were not as we might have hoped, we have a clear direction forward and plenty to work on over the next few years as we continue to build towards Olympic qualification.

Chengdu provided a unique set of conditions and I'm extremely proud of how our players and coaches responded. Under Ailsa's guidance, we embodied our "One Team" mentality both on and off the pitch. And I'm excited for the future.

We would also like to say thank you to the wonderful group of dedicated staff who continue to support our athletes across their Olympic journey. And the families, friends and supporters whose unwavering support continues to stoke the fires to push harder and aim higher.
